The Ohori Park was made by utilizing the outer moat of Fukuoka Castle. In this park is a large pond with a circumference of 2 kilometers.
A Japanese garden, restaurant, children's park, Noh theater, boathouse, and the Fukuoka Art Museum are also found here.
This park is used by many people who enjoy jogging/cycling around the pond, strolling around to look at seasonal flowers and views or rowing boats on the water.
At the West Japan Ohori Park Fireworks Display held every August, approximately 6,000 fireworks are let off which are always enjoyed by a large crowd of people (http://www.japan-i.jp/explorejapan)
